What???!!! Huh???!!! That’s not a word Heather. You’re making stuff up. LOL. Nope. Esbats, the ritual used to celebrate the Full and New Moons each month. For the longest time at Sacred Mists I got to write them and then hold the rituals. I loved that. I still get to do the solitary rituals, as we post those on months where there are Sabbats (major Pagan holidays). I don’t write and hold the Esbats anymore because now I facilitate the program and help others grow by writing their own and hosting the rituals. Growth is a necessity. So what is … Continue reading Esbats
As an empath the two words of the title make me cringe. People are scary. You never know what they are going through, what is happening or has happened to them and their emotions can be overwhelming. Weird, you may say, for someone who teaches high school to be an empath. I won’t say weird, just…difficult, daily. I have been lucky enough with my schooling at Sacred Mists to learn how to effectively shield (when I remember) and even when I don’t, how to off the emotions quickly with walks outside, and grounding. These have become especially important as the … Continue reading Creating Relationships
What today’s blog is really meant to do is to remind us all that life happens. It is okay if something gets bumped a little. Sometimes family needs to be in front of everything, because it can’t wait. In those times, that is what we need to do. It is just the fun, created family time that is needed. When family says TIME, it will push its way forward and into whatever else you have planned and you need to listen. Continue reading Family Time
Where are you? Physically? What is the space you are in? Can you describe it? Are you really there? Do you know the people around you? Do you care to? With today’s face paced technology and connectivity to, people we know, social media and live feeds, we are very often not present in mind even if we are in body. We might be sitting in a classroom, or at work, or even out to lunch or dinner with someone and yet we aren’t really there. We have been allowed over the past 10 years to become less and less present … Continue reading Being Present
The Wiccan Rede…the tenet by which those who practice most forms of Wicca try their best to stay within. Not everyone, not daily, but as a principal in general to live by, it isn’t too bad. I have pasted it here for you to look at before I go into some areas ca little deeper: The Wiccan Rede (Full Version) Bide the Wiccan Laws we must In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust. Live and let live. Fairly take and fairly give. Cast the Circle thrice about to keep the evil spirits out. To bind the spell every time let the … Continue reading The Wiccan Rede and What It Means To Me
I had hoped to talk about the Wiccan Rede today. I had grand plans and lofty goals of getting through our bedroom quickly and on with the rest of the day. Unfortunately my darling husband had insomnia so we were up until 4:30 this morning. This meant sleeping later than I usually do. The only good part of that was family brunch!!! Yummy recipe I tried that even the teenagers liked. Proceeding upstairs since today was clean the bedroom/office (we have a double master so it has many functions) for the new year we dug in, starting at noon. It … Continue reading Cleaning and Decluttering
This is yesterday’s blog this morning. The reason? Family time and Date Night. Those are two very important things. One thing I have learned through the trials and tribulations of being an adult is to make time for your relationship. Family time is important, but so is your relationship. In the middle of being so busy with everything else from work to extras to everyday stuff, we often forget to feed our relationships. This will cause strife, tension and disconnection. Taking time for the two of you is very important. When all the rest of it fades off there is … Continue reading Play Dates!!!
