So today, here in Northern California, it is a blustery day. One that reminds me of the 100 Acre Woods with blowing winds and pouring rains and puddles, and pile ups. Winnie and the 100 Acre Woods is one of my favorite escape places. Eeyore is my soul-buddy. We have a lot in common. These days though, just like Eeyore, I perk right up. Just another day, but the wind is energizing and washes away the cares.
One of the great things is that each of the Cardinal Directions (North, South, East, West) also has an element associated with it. Those elements all have correspondences and actions that help the soul, the body and the mind. Because it is so windy today I thought I would talk about the element of Air, associated with the East.
Air is associated with the Zodiac signs of Aquarius, Gemini and Libra. They will often be thinkers who want to be allowed to think their own way. Flighty and floaty they are often whimsical and most that I know appear ethereal. I can always spot an Air Element, just from their energy.
Air bring clarity and communication. I love standing in the wind as it blows away the cobwebs and helps me to think clearer. It seems to pen my mind and create within me the space to be alive and energized. In addition, I can listen to the voices. The trees are talking, the wind itself is speaking to us, if we listen closely.
In this fast paced work we live in, constantly running from place to place, the wind reminds us to stop and listen. I always feel when there is an abundance of one of the elements where I am at, that I must need a reminder. I would agree with the wind today. Some clarity in thought, some energy and rejuvenation and of course, the cold.
Cold is something I have come to associate with the wind when I need it most. The harshness of the brisk feeling against my cheek and pushing on my body help that clarity of thought happen. The walking against a 24 mph can bring forth effort, determination and a single mission, which helps with focus.
I try to remember I am not against the wind, nor is it against me, rather it is reminding me that all is possible if I just listen and think clearly and creatively. Today was a great day for that reminder. (However, I wouldn’t be adverse the thunderstorms slowing down some so my fence stays sorta upright).
May the light of the times shine down on you this weekend.
(All information on Correspondences comes from my favorite reference The Complete Book of Correspondences by Sandra Kynes, published by Llewellyn).
You actually make it appear really easy along with your presentation however I to find this matter to be actually one thing that I think I would by no means understand. It seems too complicated and very vast for me. I’m looking forward to your next post, I will attempt to get the dangle of it!
